Description
Giovanni Rosso Barbera d'Alba Donna Margherita is a red wine made in the DOC Barbera d'Alba region, located in Piedmont, Italy, an area renowned for producing high quality wines. This wine is made exclusively from the Barbera grape variety, which is renowned for its vibrant acidity and intense fruit flavours. The vineyards from which the grapes are harvested are located at altitudes ranging from 350 to 520 metres above sea level, providing ideal conditions for balanced fruit development. The grapes are harvested by hand in October, ensuring the careful selection of the best grapes.
Winemaking
As for vinification, the grapes are gently destemmed and crushed, before fermenting in contact with the skins in steel tanks for 10 to 15 days. During this process, daily pumping-over is carried out to maximise the extraction of colour and tannins, along with a technique known as délestage, which involves temporarily draining the juice from the tank and then reintroducing it to aerate the must. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large 50-hectolitre oak barrels for several months, giving it greater complexity without affecting its freshness.

Giovanni Rosso Barbera d'Alba Donna Margherita offers a refreshing and balanced sensory experience. On the nose, it presents aromas of red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by light floral notes. On the palate, it is a juicy wine, with a vibrant acidity that gives it freshness and a clean finish. The red fruit notes remain present, offering a smooth and harmonious palate. It is an easy to enjoy wine, ideal to accompany light dishes such as fresh cheeses, cold meats and risottos. It is recommended to decant it so that it reaches its maximum expression and to serve it at a temperature of 14-16°C.
