Description
Eisele Vineyard Syrah is a red wine made in the Napa Valley region by the Eisele Vineyard winery.
Winemaking
This wine is made from 100% Syrah grapes from vineyards certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter. The must was fermented with 20% whole clusters. It was aged for 19 months, using 65% new French and Austrian oak, 25% used oak and 24% in amphorae. This unique combination of ageing techniques gives the wine an unparalleled complexity and finesse.
Taste
Eisele Vineyard Syrah marks a milestone in quality for a variety that has been present at Eisele Vineyard since the 1970s. The nose is captivating, with incredibly expressive aromatics of freshly cut cherries, complemented by intense aromas of blackberry, violet, clove and cappuccino. The attack is smooth and silky, with velvety tannins and layered ripe fruit, enhanced by a touch of cinnamon and vanilla. It is remarkable how the inclusion of 20% whole bunches and the use of amphorae and foudres for ageing have allowed greater precision to be achieved, resulting in very subtle aromatics and great finesse - a real treasure!
