Description
Ca' Marcanda Promis wine is an authentic and elegant expression of the Bolgheri territory in Tuscany. This wine is the result of the passion and dedication of Angelo Gaja, an iconic name in the Italian wine world.
Winemaking
Promis is composed of three main varieties: 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 10% Sangiovese. These grapes are grown in vineyards located in Bolgheri and the neighbouring area of Bibbona, on dark soils rich in lime and clay. After the harvest, a rigorous selection of the best bunches is made. Fermentation and maceration of the three varieties are carried out separately for about 15 days. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Once this stage is completed, the final blend is made and the wine is left to settle in the bottle for several months before being released onto the market.
Taste
Ca' Marcanda Promis has a deep ruby red colour, tinged with purple tones. On the nose, it is predominantly fruity, highlighting wild fruits such as raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, complemented by notes of pink pepper and liquorice. On the palate, it is a medium-bodied wine, with round tannins and a refreshing acidity.
