Description
Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is a wine made from 100% Chardonnay. The vineyards of this Grand Cru are located at the foot of a very steep slope, on soils formed 155 million years ago, known as Kimmeridgian, composed of marine sediments, algae and shells.
Winemaking
Harvesting is done by hand, carefully selecting the grapes which are then gently pressed before traditional winemaking. This wine is aged for about 15-18 months, mostly in stainless steel tanks and to a lesser extent in French oak.
Taste
On the nose, Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru Bougros reveals intense mineral notes combined with aromas of candied fruit. On the palate, it is refined and almost velvety, offering a caressing texture and ripe density. Aromas of apple, lemon and minerals, with a medium-bodied palate where notes of citrus and green apple stand out. The finish is round and rich, with well-balanced acidity, fruit and minerals, giving it great dimension and harmonious ageing potential.
