Bodegas 6º Elemento Vineyard
Their vineyards are located in Venta del Moro, in the Mediterranean mountains of inland Valencia (Spain), right on the Altiplano del río Cabriel. According to the family, it is an unknown treasure, as it enjoys unique conditions for growing fruit. The soils in the area are sandy clay, which has the benefit of retaining nutrients and water. In summer, the climate is perfect on this high plateau. It is at an altitude of 750-1000m and is very close to the Mediterranean Sea. This creates a complex, but magnificent combination of marine and mountain climate. There can be a temperature difference of more than 20 degrees between day and night, a condition that every winemaker dreams of in order to create high quality wines. Rafa and Silvia, the head of the family that created Bodegas 6º Elemento, set themselves the goal of going back to the origins and continuing what their ancestors had left behind. They have been able to fuse the know-how of yesteryear with modern knowledge. For this reason, they have created a peculiar explosive mix of flavour and emotion. They grow star varieties and other grapes that are already extinct: Bobal, Tardana in whites and Royal. The autochthonous Bobal is the most widespread in the area, with Appellation Origin Utiel-Requena and occupies 75% of the total surface of the vineyard.

They abstain from any process that could damage the wine such as filtering, heating, centrifuging, clarifying, etc. This results in original aromas and authentic flavour, preserving the true expression of the fruit. The grapes are fermented without chemical additives and with indigenous yeasts.Their reserve red wine, 6º Elemento 2017, is a powerful and structured bobal. Aged for 11 months in French and American oak barrels. David & Goliath 2018, fruity and juicy, is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Its acclaimed Respeto 2016, ideal for pairing with red meat at a romantic dinner, is aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. These are natural wines that convey the full expression of the terroir.
