Description
Viña Sastre Roble is a red wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes by Bodega Hermanos Sastre under the D.O. Ribera del Duero appellation.
The grapes used come from vineyards with an area of 45 hectares with 17 and 30 years of La Horra and Roa in the town of Burgos, located at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level on the slopes of the Duero on clay-limestone and alluvial soils.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand. No herbicides or pesticides are used in the production of Viña Sastre Roble, it is a traditional method. Once selected, the grapes are pressed at low pressure, before beginning the maceration process with the skins for about 7 days. Subsequent fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures.
The wine is aged for 10 months in new French and American oak barrels.
Taste
Viña Sastre Roble is a red wine with herbal notes, toasted notes and hints of dried fruits. It is tender, expressive and aromatic. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, juicy and ripe, balanced, with noble and polished tannins, persistent, although not very long, but with a firm acidity and freshness.
A powerful and complex wine
Viña Sastre Roble is a Ribera del Duero of great subtlety and delicate freshness thanks to the dominance of the Tempranillo variety in its production.
The Tempranillo grapes are cultivated in a traditional way, without the addition of mineral fertilisers, herbicides or insecticides, a viticulture between organic and biodynamic that results in a wine that is particularly intense in colour and on the palate. It is a well-integrated red wine, pleasant and easy to drink.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is particularly recommended for business lunches or dinners with friends and will perfectly accompany pasta dishes with meat sauce, rice dishes with meat and cold meats.
