Qué Bonito Cacareaba 2023
HK$ 603.29
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2023 Qué Bonito Cacareaba is voluptuous, lush and showy, ripe and round, with 14.5% alcohol and generous oak but keeping very good freshness (pH of 3.16) and acidity (six grams) that provide balance. It was produced with a blend of 41% Viura, 39% Garnacha Blanca and 20% Malvasía Riojana from dry-farmed vines in some of the best terroirs of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, El Bombón, El Sauco, Sacramento, Isla and La Canoca. The selected grapes macerated for 24 hours, and the juice fermented and aged for nine months in new French oak barrels with the fine lees that were stirred weekly until June 2024. 2023 was a healthy and ripe year for whites, when they could wait for the different plots to achieve perfect ripeness and the grapes were picked in the morning to keep more freshness. It has a bright yellow color with some green tints and notes of white flowers and fruit with a citrus twist, spicy and smoky. It should integrate the oak with time in bottle. This has been produced since 2002. 7,000 bottles produced.

Description
The white wine Qué Bonito Cacareaba is an exclusive product of Benjamín Romeo Wines, led by the winemaker and oenologist Benjamín Romeo in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in La Rioja. Three different grape varieties are used for this variety, from different plots such as Las Llanas, Sacramento and El Sauco.
This wine is characterized by recovering the essence of the typical Rioja whites in a combination that you cannot miss. It is a real delight!
Winemaking
The first step to follow is the harvest, which is carried out in the traditional manner and includes the Macabeo, Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca varieties.
Once the destemming process takes place, the grapes undergo a cold maceration process and are then pressed . In total, the wine is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.
Taste
Qué Bonito Cacareaba is a fresh wine, with citrus and wild notes and good olfactory development. On the palate, its flavor is fruity and preserves mineral nuances that are diluted in a long and persistent note, a gift to the palate!
Unique nuances and a distinctive flavor
Due to its organoleptic characteristics and distinctive profile, this wine is the ideal companion for seafood, fish or sauces. It is a jewel among the whites in which the typical flavors of La Rioja stand out in their maximum splendor.
