Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Os Bidueiros is the wine produced with the old vines from Seadur on granite soils with the particularity that the old vineyards have a high percentage of Sumoll grapes. It fermented with the full clusters and indigenous yeasts and a long maceration (60 days) and matured in used 500-liter French oak barrels for 14 months. This is floral and perfumed with a minty touch, open and expressive, with a moderate 12.2% alcohol and a medium body with very fine tannins and a slight bitter twist in the finish. This is from the village where they now have their center of operations. The wine feels less ripe than the 2018 and more in line with the rest of the Fedellos/Peixes wines, perhaps more advanced in aromas. 6,000 bottles were filled in February 2021.

Description
There are wines that tell you a story with every sip. Peixes Os Bidueiros is one of them. It was born in Seadur, a small corner of Valdeorras, where the vines seem to have found their own rhythm, oblivious to time. This is a wine that does not seek to impress with artifice, but to make you fall in love with its authenticity.
The creators of this jewel, Curro Barreño and Jesús Olivares, do not follow pre-established recipes. Their philosophy is clear: let the land and the grapes speak for themselves. That is why **Peixes Os Bidueiros ** is a blend of Mencía, Sumoll and Garnacha Tintorera, varieties that grow in vineyards between 60 and 80 years old, at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. Imagine: vines twisted by the passage of time, sinking their roots into granitic soils that provide that characteristic mineral touch.
The climate in this area is a curious combination: a little continental, a little Atlantic, with rainfall of up to 800 mm a year. This means that the grapes ripen calmly, gaining complexity without losing freshness.
Winemaking
Here there is no rush, no unnecessary manipulation. The grapes are fermented with whole bunches, using indigenous yeasts, those that carry the DNA of the vineyard. They are left to macerate for two months in large plastic containers, allowing the wine to acquire structure without losing its soul. Peixes Os Bidueiros then rests for 12 months in used 500-litre French oak barrels, just long enough to round out its personality without disguising it. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or fining. Straight from the vineyard to your glass.
Taste
From the very first moment, Peixes Os Bidueiros seduces with its floral perfume and that minty touch that gives it freshness. When you taste it, it is as if the earth is speaking: fine tannins, vibrant acidity and an aftertaste with a subtle bitterness that invites you to have another sip. Its body is medium, its character is elegant, but with that hint of rusticity that makes it so special.
It is a wine to be enjoyed unhurriedly, like a conversation between friends that goes on well into the night.
