Description
The Mascarello Dolcetto d'Alba Santo Stefano di Perno wine is born on the Santo Stefano di Perno hill, located in the commune of Monforte d'Alba. This wine is made mainly from the Dolcetto grape variety.
Winemaking
The winemaking process is traditional, with fermentation with the cap submerged for 7 days at a controlled temperature of the grapes selected from the estate. It is a wine that does not go through oak barrels, but is stabilised in inert tanks. Its cellar life is expected to be 4 to 5 years and it is bottled one year after the harvest.
Taste
Dolcetto d'Alba Santo Stefano di Perno has a pale cherry-purple colour, bright and clean with a pinkish rim and a medium robe. The nose is clean, medium to low intensity, with aromas of red fruit, a touch of moisture, wilted roses, dried red flowers and hay. It is important to oxygenate it adequately due to its alcohol content. On the palate, it is dry with medium-high acidity, marked tannins and a slight bitterness. It has a medium relative weight and a sensation of astringency at the beginning, but its passage is balanced and fresh.
