Looking at my notes, I should have asked to try a second bottle of the 2017 Saint-Joseph Les Granits Blanc, as I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about the bottle that we tried, despite Michel Chapoutier and the rest of his team having given it the nod of approval.
