Description
Burja Bela comes from the picturesque region of Vipava, known for its quality vineyards and winemaking tradition. This particular wine stands out not only for its origin, but also for the unique combination of grapes it is made from. It is made from a blend of Malvasia, Welschriesling, Ribolla Gialla and Vipavec, each contributing their own notes and characteristics to the final profile of the wine.
The vineyard that gives rise to this wine covers an area of 1.60 hectares, with a soil composed mainly of marl and sandstone. The vines have an average age of 34 years, which indicates a maturity and depth in the harvested grapes. Biodynamic agriculture is practised, respecting the natural cycles and avoiding the use of chemicals. Harvesting is done by hand, guaranteeing a meticulous selection of the best grapes.
Winemaking
70% of the spontaneous fermentation takes place in barrels, while the remaining 30% ferments in cement tanks, using indigenous yeasts. In addition, malolactic fermentation takes place, which adds smoothness and complexity to the wine. It is aged for one month in stainless steel, followed by 11 months in barrels, which gives it woody notes and a robust structure. It is important to note that no fining or filtration is carried out, and a minimal amount of sulphur is added.
Taste
Burja Bela is a true symphony of flavours and aromas. When you taste it, you can perceive notes of honey, butter, pineapple, lemon, sultanas, orange, apricot and grapefruit. It also has a distinctive aroma reminiscent of malt whisky. Its medium body and long finish make this wine an unforgettable experience.
