Description
Amaury Beaufort Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is a unique champagne that reflects the dedication and passion of its creator, Amaury Beaufort. Hailing from the Champagne region of France, this wine is a true expression of the terroir of the Côte des Bar. The "Le Jardinot" vineyard, planted in 1968 by Amaury's father, Jacques Beaufort, is located on Kimmeridgiense limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir, the exclusive variety used in this champagne.
Winemaking
This wine is made using traditional, natural methods. The grapes are directly pressed and fermentation takes place in large oak barrels, foudres and casks for at least two winters. The wine is kept in contact with its fine lees, which adds complexity and richness. Malolactic fermentation takes place to soften the wine's natural acidity. Second fermentation takes place in the bottle, using grape must, and the champagne is refined on the lees for a minimum of 15 months. This process does not include filtration, fining or the addition of sulphur, resulting in a pure and authentic wine.
Taste
Amaury Beaufort Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature offers a sophisticated and complex flavour profile. Being a Brut Nature, it has no final dosage, which preserves its dry and authentic character. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe fruit and floral notes can be appreciated, accompanied by a subtle touch of brioche due to its ageing on lees. The palate is fresh and lively, with balanced acidity and a robust structure provided by the Pinot Noir. Red fruit and citrus flavours combine harmoniously with mineral nuances and a long, lingering finish.
