The 2021 Graciano-Garnacha Grano a Grano was produced with 60% Garnacha and 40% Graciano that was hand destemmed and fermented in a small stainless steel tank and matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 18 months. It has 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.28 and 6.85 grams of acidity, notable parameters of freshness and acidity. I'd love to see the Garnacha on its own; I guess they don't have enough grapes, because I think the high percentage of Graciano takes away most of the aromatics from the Garnacha. This blend usually comes through as a little oakier than the other wines from the Grano a Grano range. The palate feels very harmonious, with very fine tannins and vibrant acidity. It feels very young; none of the 2021s showed any development, it's a year that is developing at a very slow pace. Only 600 bottles were filled in May 2023.

Description
Abel Mendoza Graciano-Garnacha Grano a Grano is a single varietal wine made with grapes from single Graciano vines intermixed in separate vineyards with other varietals accounting for about 40% of the volume and Garnacha from vines over 40 years old.
Winemaking
The grapes are picked and selected by hand in the vineyard. Once in the winery, the bunches are destemmed berry by berry and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Taste
The palate is dry, structured, fresh and mellow. On the nose, there is a lot of aromatic strength.
