The 2022 El Bosque has more toasted notes than its siblings and hints of sweet spices and ripe black fruit. They have done soil studies of this vineyard, and the soil is very balanced, with good topsoil with organic matter, some sand, some red clay and gravel and the compact limestone at the bottom that provides the elegance. The wine is medium to full-bodied with grip from the 2022 tannins. Despite everything, it shows some lightness, especially in the mid-palate. 8,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024 after 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Description
El Bosque is one of the top-of-the-range wines made by Sierra Cantabria entirely from Tempranillo grapes and whose must has undergone a careful ageing process in order to develop all its characteristics to obtain a full-bodied red wine.
The vineyard from which the grapes are harvested is located at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level and is planted in clay soil, which favours the appearance of a high tannic load thanks to water stress. Undoubtedly, the perfect climate for a delicious wine.
Winemaking
The first step is to harvest the grapes. This process is carried out manually, as is destemming. Once the must is extracted, it undergoes a double fermentation: the first one in oak vats with a capacity of 10 hectalitres and the second one in French oak barrels. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months before it is bottled.
Taste
One of the most outstanding aspects of this wine is its aromatic charge with hints of red fruits and balsamic notes, while on the palate its flavour is fruity, unctuous and elegant.
