Free-run fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Long ageing of 2 years in demi-muids without completing malolactic fermentation. Second fermentation in bottle with a minimum ageing of 24 months and bottled without final dosage (Brut Nature).
Description
If there is one thing that defines Alexandre Lamblot, it is his audacity. This young vigneron, based in Vrigny, challenges the traditional moulds of Champagne with an almost artisanal approach. His wine, Alexandre Lamblot Les Fourgons, is one of those rarities that arouse curiosity from the first sip. Made from 100% Meunier, a variety that is often undervalued, but which in his hands takes on an unexpected dimension.
The vineyards, located in the Petite Montagne de Reims, are a small ecosystem in themselves. Lamblot, obsessed with biodiversity, has planted fruit trees between the rows of vines and avoids the use of heavy machinery so as not to compact the soil. The result: vines with strong roots, which explore these sandy loam and clay soils in search of nutrients.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand, fermented in used oak barrels and aged for more than two years on the lees, this Brut Nature without dosage, where the grapes and the terroir speak without interference.
Taste
Imagine a sunrise in the French countryside. The cool breeze, the smell of freshly baked bread, a bowl of juicy peaches and a subtle hint of spice wafting through the air. This is what Alexandre Lamblot Les Fourgons feels like in the glass.
The palate is a play of contrasts: enveloping and ample, but with that vibrant acidity that makes you salivate and want another sip. There is something seductive in its texture, between creamy and electric, with a long, saline finish that leaves a lingering impression. Alexandre Lamblot Les Fourgons is a champagne to drink leisurely, ideal to pair with aged cheeses or simply to enjoy on its own, letting each nuance reveal itself at its own pace.
