The 2020 O Raio da Vella is vibrant and fresher than the 2019 I tasted next to it; it has more acidity and feels lighter, more complete and balanced. This comes from a vineyard that is very close to the sea, where the soils have more clay (kaolinite) and deliver fruit-driven wines with a softer texture and rounder tannins. 1,500 bottles were filled from a 1,500-liter oak foudre, where the wine matured for one year.
