Ratapoil Partout is an intriguing wine that encapsulates the essence of the Jura region of France, combining tradition with a modern, avant-garde touch. This wine is a blend of the three characteristic red varieties of Jura: Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau.
Winemaking
Ratapoil Partout is made using a technique known as carbonic maceration, which is carried out over a period of three weeks. This technique is particularly beneficial in enhancing the vibrant acidity and bright red fruit notes that are distinctive to this wine.
The ageing of Ratapoil Partout follows a minimalist approach that allows the natural qualities of the grapes to be fully expressed. The result is a wine with a unique ability to "harmonise" after transfer, either from barrel to tank or from France to other countries. This characteristic is essential to fully appreciate its profile, especially as Poulsard can add "farmhouse" aromas that require time to integrate and mellow.

When tasting Ratapoil Partout, one discovers a funky wine at first, which evolves wonderfully well after being aerated and served slightly chilled. This process reveals a complexity where small red fruits such as strawberries, redcurrants and sour cherries dominate. In addition, intriguing notes of cola, orange peel, leather, white pepper and a hint of floral add an extra layer of complexity. The profile is rounded out with mushroom nuances and a distinctive cow manure aroma, which lends an earthy, robust character.
The palate experience is one of precise fruit and a linear palate, highlighting serious length and superfine tannins that testify to the quality and care in its making.
