Description
Ceretto Barbera d'Alba Piana is a wine of great prestige for the Ceretto winery, originating from Piedmont. This wine is produced entirely in the municipality of Alba and is made from 100% Barbera grapes. The name "Piana" comes from the vineyard in Barbera d'Alba, the prince of Piedmontese vines par excellence, in a particular valley of the municipality of Alba known locally as La Piana.
Winemaking
Vinification in stainless steel tanks reinforces the characteristics of the variety, accelerating the sensation of freshness and olfactory fragrance. After fermentation, it rests on its fine lees for 6 months in the same steel tanks.
Taste
In the glass, the wine stands out for its beautiful ruby colour, with purple reflections. On the nose it delights with hints of cherry, plum, plum and redcurrant. Notes of vanilla, cocoa bean and dark chocolate are added. The palate is fleshy, round and smooth. The restrained tannin and incisive acidity make it perfect for food pairing and allow it to stand up to even the most lush, savoury and fatty dishes.
It goes perfectly with dishes such as Boeuf Bourguignon, roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or stuffed peppers.
